Very good conditions this morning once they groomed the trail. It started to be very soft around 11 AM and then the whole man made loop was melting...

Conditions on the manmade loop are excellent for skating. Trails were groomed overnight and have a soft, snowy layer on a firm base. A new track was set, but it looks a bit shallow. Skiing off the manmade loops is fair to good, with a shallow layer of groomed snow on an ice base.

The manmade snow loops, in the current cold snap, are well groomed, but hard packed. Tracks are also solid. Off the manmade, on the lighted loop, there is a hard packed layer of snow on an ice base. Skiable - didn't see any rocks, but not my favorite ski conditions.

Skied Lapham both Saturday and Sunday. It had snowed Friday night and they didn't groom in that snow Saturday so it was a little slow but good edging. Very good skiing. Just stayed on the man made loop as per the park's suggestion. They groomed Saturday night so Sunday it was very firm. Did ski the lighted loop off the man made trails (Without the big climbs) and it was skiable with a thin layer of compressed snow. Getting a pole to set was troublesome in areas as the ice was just below that snow. It was fun though. Tracks looked good on the man made loop. Lots of people trying skiing out and that's always good. Saturday had some sight impaired skiers out with some very dedicated guides. Thank you to those guides, I heard more than one skier say how much they enjoyed being out there!

The man made loops are in very good condition. Slightly icy underneath at times when planting a pole but overall in great shape. The other trails outside the man made section are all ice.

Skiing is very good on the manmade snow loops. A layer of loose powdery snow on top of a firm base provides good glide and easy skiing. There is a bit of debris at some locations. There is a track set around the manmade loops. The Into the Woods trails have the nicest snow cover, but also the most debris.

Lower trails including man made loop were fast and doable but icy. Conditions were better on upper loops. Thin tracks.

Skate skied the green, blue and purple loops. Conditions were extremely icy this morning, the melt and refreeze made for tough going. Downhills were scary fast. A few spots had some solid ice from the ice storm poking through. Purple loop was a bit more forgiving. The groomer was out while I was there and seemed to help a little but I imagine it'll take some effort to break up all that chunky ice.

Yesterday's warm-up followed by a rapid cool-down was not kind to the trail surface. Trails were groomed overnight, but the surface this morning was hard and icy. It was possible to get an edge, skating, but not easy. Tracks were set and are solid but icy -- good for a double pole work-out. Grooming was in progress when I left around 11:00, and the groomer (Jay) reported that conditions were better on the upper trails than on the manmade loops.
