Excellent Spring Skiing this morning. Thanks to groomers for going one last time. Skating conditions were fast and controllable. Striding in new tracks pretty good too. Talked to someone who skied 37k today on the man-made loop because the weather forecast isn't good for skiers.

Kudos to Park Staff for providing dependable skiing conditions this season by always grooming when needed. Skied at 1 PM after wind gusts dropped below 20 mph. It was Extreme Spring Skiing featuring fresh set tracks. Wind has dropped pine needles on some sections of the man-made loop. The spring sun is burning into the base causing short sections of boiler plate. Lower sections had deep sugar slush which will need grooming if freezing tonight. The upper wooded sections had frozen corduroy except where the sun hit.

Man-made loop is still solid and good for skate skiing. Some Pine needle debris but no bare spots. If the groomers keep grooming we will have a few more days to enjoy!

There is still plenty of base on the manmade snow loops. Skiing was very nice this morning on the whole manmade snow system, but especially in the open areas where the snow is still very clean. There are dirty snow areas where there are pines close to the trail and ice adjacent to the main trailhead. Come on out and enjoy it while it lasts!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The man made trails have been groomed as of 10:30am Monday morning and are in good condition. The skate deck is fairly soft on the surface at this point. New track was also set. We will continue to groom the man made loop as weather permits.

For the manmade snow loops - softening, slushy surface layer over a firm, deep base. Getting slow and sticky as the temps and sun rise. Tracks are old and icy, but do exist. Best skiing is on the wooded trails, but cleanest snow is on the lower, open trails.

6 am at Lapham Peak found perfect conditions for a pre-work ski. The man-made loop was tilled and chilled to perfection. Thank you groomers. Get out before the warm up and enjoy the jewel that Lapham Peak is!

The 1.7k manmade loop was good for skating. The skate deck was groomed with enough loose sugar snow and was not icy. The magic carpet especially was very controllable and smooth. Thanks to the groomers for making such good skating conditions.

Generally very good conditions on the manmade snow loops this morning. Overnight grooming with the ginzu maintained the shallow layer of powdery snow over the firm base. Skating was very nice. Downhills also have a general layer of powdery snow and are quite manageable. Striding tracks have not been reset and are old.

I skate skied only the man made snow today. It looked like they groomed the skate lanes earlier in the morning. The trails were in good condition (not icy) but you would lose and edge once in a while. Otherwise pretty good skiing.
