Early this morning, still a .7km loop left thanks to Yurgin moving some snow around. No more tracks left for striders but a fair amount of snow left and on most of hill. Slow and very soft in some spots but hey its almost April.

Groomed this morning and fantastic skating. Hopefully we can get to the first day of Spring although the entire loop may not make it. There's a little stream under the deck near the water park.

Awesome conditions on the man made loop again early this morning! Only negative was the 40mph gusts-made for a good workout into the wind Thanks to Yuriy for grooming. With tons of snow still left on the loop. Hopefully can ski until April!

The man made loop had a good covering of the base as the snow did not melt on contact. Pretty choppy and deep in some places and blown over in others.

Manmade loop has survived and was regroomed early Friday morning. Plenty of base but skate lane was getting might soft by 10 am. Tracks slushy but intact. My buddy Marc was having fun on his klister skis. Wisconsin Junior Sprints are Saturday with a citizen race before at 10 am. Course is sure to get churned up but hey it’s March 12 and we’re still rockin it here in Mad Town. Thanks to City Parks Madnorski CXC Yuriy Gusev and all the volunteers. Best year I can remember for southern Wisconsin.

Skied around noon. Artificial loop was great! Around the ballparks was good, have to dodge a few ice/puddle areas. West trails were good, some dirty spots. I would not recommend going all the way down to the night parking area, it is fine until the very bottom where it is all ice/slush/dirt. Thanks to Yuriy, grooming was the best that could be asked for given the temps.

Snowmaking loop groomed and double tracked by PB Paana this morning. It was excellent 8:30-9:45. Everything off the snowmaking loop is glare ice and was not being groomed. Snowmaking loop including the small hill is 1.1K.

I skied the main loop at around 8pm for about 45 minutes. Conditions were very icy. I stuck to almost entirely flat ground and didn't attempt a single hill. The only reason I went out is because I missed the entire season up until today. If you like going real fast and are ambivalent towards turning with control, come on out.

Much different than yesterday, the tracks and deck were bordering on icy. Skating was rocket fast and classical wasn't much slower. Ridges in the deck made hills a little challenging and very fast. Still quite a bit of snow although the tracks are getting shallow, debris is gathering as well particularly on the West loop return. A lot more fun than yesterday even without the big hill.

So slow! Skating isn't worth it in my opinion -- no glide. The deck is still mostly packed and smooth, but is starting to get a little chopped up and soft in places. Classic skiing on skin skis was better, but still incredibly slow on the flats and downhills.
