Beautiful day today. The trails haven’t recently been groomed. Please use caution while skiing, especially on the hills. Ice, debris from trees and pasty areas can cause safety concerns/injuries. Trails are fair. No bare areas present.

Enjoyed an exceptional day of skiing on the red trail at Underdown Recreational area. It appeared they groomed the trail just for us, tracks were clean and nicely beveled, such a beautiful, scenic trail system, well worth the one hour drive!

Fair to Good. Trails were very fast with last weeks pre-thaw tracks covered by a 1/2" of fresh snow. The icy surface below the fresh snow made it difficult to set edges in order to herringbone or snowplow effectively. Moderate debris, with Loop Road probably the least affected, especially past the Green trail junction. Certainly skiable but pretty technical. Probably not suitable for beginning skiers.

Excellent mid-winter conditions. Skied the Loop Road segment. Used Rex Tapegrip A little slow at the beginning but got better as the day warmed. Trails are freshly set. Skate deck on Loop Road, the only trail segment groomed for skating, was pretty much untouched and seemed hard and fast. No trail pass needed this weekend at Underdown.

Absolutely outstanding conditions this morning at this classic gem. Joanie and I have been coming here for the last 25 years and today was one of favorite visits, as we skied all the trail portions, about 35K. Trails had been freshly groomed on Thursday and were still holding up well. Thank you for the great grooming!

Trails at Underdown were in fair to good shape. They haven't been groomed since the big weekend snow, the County usually grooms them late in the week. Tracks were skier set over old grooming. New snow was falling making the trails generally slow and soft, Kick too hard and you punched through the surface of the track. Sidewalls of the track were also soft. OTOH, the ride was silky and hills very manageable. Used Swix Extra Blue with mostly good results; minor icing from the fresh snow and near freezing temps. As long as you took it easy it was a pleasant, old school day to ski.

The trail was groomed Friday and was in excellent condition with only a few scattered spots of oak leaves and balsam scales. Tracks were deep and fast in reworked snow with a couple turns starting to wash out from users. Skied on a green hard wax that became a bit slippery in the late afternoon but not bad enough to rewax to a blue. The county did a great job in dealing with difficult weather conditions.

Awesome striding at The Underdown today! 28 degrees, sunny, windless, gorgeous, beautifully tracked, and tons of snow. If you’re a strider, you need to check this gem out! Carpe Skiem!

Would rate the green loop only fair today due to icy glaze in the tracks and hard crust between them. Additionally, there were frozen foot prints from walkers, making snowplowing problematic. In a number of places, snow had also melted from the trees and dripped onto the trail and refroze. It would have helped if the groomer had lifted the track setter on the downhills. We took all the hill bypasses to try to limit speed beyond our abilities.

Super fast on a well tracked deck! Almost too fast given the degree of difficulty of this gem! The entire course looked to be freshly tracked offering skiers 3/4 depth tracks throughout. Very little washout at hill bases. Base is solid. There is a refreshing abundance of snow! Carpe Skiem.
