These trails are probably cooked for the season. Lots of bare spots and ice. Will likely be unskiable by tomorrow.

Skate lane has been groomed, kind of, and it’s not too bad. I skated the full outer blue loop as well as the white. Hills are fairly smooth but hard. Not icy but close to it. Some icy sections in the pines but they were short. A bare spot or two on the white under the pines. All in all, worth going out. Tracks were doable but icy.

Night
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I started skiing at 6:30pm and saw a groomer trying to get started. Not sure what the problem was, but he wasn't sure if he'd be able to groom. I skied blue with fast tracks and a few icy spots. I took a couple falls on downhills on the skate deck as it had ruts that swiftly took my skis out with me landing (gracefully) on my sides. Blue connector was brutal since that hasn't been groomed and I made the decision to walk down some of the hills. When I got to where blue meets up with white, I was amazed to see a fresh beautiful skate deck. I know all of white was groomed and I think it's a decent assumption to think everything (minus blue only connector) was groomed. Moral of the story is get out tomorrow morning and enjoy the fresh skate deck before the temps get too warm. I plan to be there bright and early.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Very icy trails in late afternoon with old skate ski ruts that refroze a lot. Downhills are outright scary and crashes are prohibited. If you're brave, take your skis that do the best on ice and be careful. Advanced level only. I would say the same for classic. Tracks are rocket fast and will not forgive any mistake. Tomorrow may be different once it thaws and softens up. Today took my pleasure of skiing away.

Absolutely great conditions at Kettle today. Groomed today, firm base with semi firm top layer of crusty corn type snow from the ice getting churned up. Fast and fun, been waiting for this for years! Great job groomers!

Great ski on freshly groomed trail today. A little soft but still fast. Wanted to keep skiing but don’t want to overdue it before the Birkie. Get out and enjoy it while it lasts.

All trails are in great shape. Classic tracks have been set. Did not see any rocks. I would recommend skiing there on Sunday. The blue section starting at N7 was not groomed. Not sure why this section is not being groomed it is one of the best runs of the track.

Really nice skiing conditions today at Nordic. The trail system there is very scenic and it was great to ski with my wife and son. Hope the conditions last for a bit!

Best skate conditions on Nordic this season. Skate deck level with plenty of loose snow for edging and somewhat hardpacked for good glide. Able to do all the climbs without stopping. Did the blue green and white. Blacks hills not groomed.

Great ski this morning at Kettle. Groomed, fairly hard base with a soft top layer in areas. High wind is causing some blowing and drifting in open areas. Mile 7 of blue loop not groomed, so I did the blue/green/white combo loop. What a difference a week makes.
