Gave it a go out of curiosity, but it was a rough ski today with the warming temperatures. The snow is still quite deep, with a little icy crust on top. The biggest issue now is that the feet sink a good 2-4” in on each step and it is difficult to control yourself. Conditions might be salvageable with a few rolls over the trail to pack it down. For now, Nordic is your best option, but you’ll still find yourself sinking into the tracks.

Classic tracks were a little shallow and a washed out in a few places, but quick and very skiable! Skate deck was a bit uneven and bumpy, and there was snowshoe traffic along the edges. However, the base was firm and the snow was quick, so not bad conditions considering the number of people out this weekend!

Was groomed yesterday. Skate deck firmed up nicely. A couple soft spots but not to bad. Classic tracks look to be in very good condition.

As of Friday 3:00 PM the course was not groomed for skate or classic. Trail blazed the fresh 2" of light fluffy powder. Still had a nice glide with the hard base. Absolutely gorgeous. Just like downhill skiing and being the first one down the hill on 6" of fresh powder. What a treat this year has been.

Got out in the heat of the day, about 3:00pm. Fresh cordoroy on the skate trail. A little soft but should firm up nice tonight. Double set of classic tracks. Best conditions ever at Whitnal. Thanks Jason and Ryan.

Skied Whitnall Park Thursday before the storm and it was all perfectly groomed with more extensive tracks than I'd ever experienced in prior years. Went back on Friday and it's all drifted over. Individuals have been blazing classical tracks so skiing traditional style wasn't too bad. No ice anywhere, seems they only had a snow event.

Dennis and I classic skied the entire park twice. Classic tracks are great. Initally it was a little slow but we got better glide as the temps dropped around 5pm. Skating track was groomed but looked a little soft but we only strided so this is just an observation.

Great snowfall yesterday has led to great conditions today. Had a great time with freshly groomed trails. Gentle snow with no icy areas noted!

All trails were groomed after the new snowfall. Conditions slower due to the soft new snow. Should firm up tonight. Unfortunately, already a couple of walkers plodding right through middle of the trail.
