Piemont has about 98% of it's snow left with only two short spots of unconnectedness! Gotta love the mature snow, which is what the consistency was today! Lots of footprints for the first part and still some after that. We ran into someone in the parking lot setting out for a walk on the trail with his two dogs who told us he called the City and they said it was 55F and they could walk on it...grrrr.

The main trail is pretty much all covered, except for a few small spots that are easy to get around! The tracks are getting thin and people unfortunately are walking on them. We saw two men and two loose dogs walking up the trail and educated them on other places to walk.

Piedmont is fully covered with snow and today it was nice and cold so we had midwinter type slippery snow instead of the sticky type that happens pre corn snow! No more grooming this year, but we skied in the tracks for everyone today (you are welcome)...it is drifting quite a bit so they may be invisible later today. We were sad to see the signs have already been removed despite the deep snow that is there! In the woods the snow is at least 16 inches or so! Hopefully the bikers, walkers etc will stay off the trails!

Still pretty decent skiing at Piedmont, especially for April! There are a few holes here and there to step around, but almost all the trails are definitely skiable. The Evel Knieval hill has a huge spot of open grass and dirt in the middle and is impassable without taking off your skis and walking across, so watch out for that one.

We were pleasantly surprised at how well Piedmont held up despite the 50's temps! Darrin's last grooming really made a difference! I would have put good skis down as there is 99.9% coverage, but some people may ski with their eyes closed and hit those three very minute spots that are open...not realizing that they could go to the other lane and have full coverage. Tracks are pretty darn defined and easy to stay in. Now if we could get those runners, walkers and bikers to stay off the trails we can ski until May.

Skied a couple of loops this afternoon. The snow is soft and slow, but the tracks are entirely intact. Get some while it lasts!

I arrived at Piedmont early afternoon expecting already groomed trails, unfortunately for Darrin the groomer, the back part of the groomer disconnected from the front and worked on it for at least 45 minutes after I got there! I went around and around the ok but not freshly groomed tracks until I heard it, the delightful sound of the groomer, coming up behind me in the distance! Then I was treated to perfect cord and impeccable tracks for the remainder of my journey. Hopefully the person who keeps running down the middle of the tracks will stop, you can see one deep footprint post grooming from him! Darrin said it's his last groom of the season, so I got a picture of him as he loaded it up for the day.

Piedmont has been groomed. Good spring skiing conditions at Piedmont. Piedmont is groomed for classical and skate skiing.

A solid C+ for the Piedmont trail. Plenty of snow and an okay track all the way around. It was about 38 degrees and the snow was soft and slow. Definitely recommend fish scale skis, as there's debris in the tracks. The City says they're going to groom Piedmont tomorrow.

The tracks were still good. It was warm out today and the trails were a little soft.
