We classic skied Piedmont today and where people and dogs had not ventured out, the tracks were really good! We encountered one couple walking the trail and asked them why they chose to walk the ski trail and not the snowmobile trail. If people were to stop walking the ski trail those tracks would be good for awhile!

We skied on skier-made tracks at Piedmont and had a fun ski! Still plenty of coverage if you want to get out for a bonus spring ski.

Piedmont has a surprising amount of snow left! The city drove their machine through the trails today while taking down the signs wiping out any traces of the great classic track that was still there. People are walking on the trail too. The snow is really fun corn snow that is about 98% connected! If you still want to ski ...there were only a handful of spots that I had to walk on my skis across the bare ground on.

Fantastic classic conditions this morning. Grooming from Friday holding up very well. Tracks were deep and well defined.

Unexpectedly surprised to see fresh grooming from this morning, but several parts were not skied upon at 2:30 pm, before I arrived. Absolutely fantastic no wax conditions. My bride and I had a real fun time. The water was standing in a couple places but easily avoided.

I headed out to Piedmont today wondering if I could still use good skis... much to my delight not only could I use my good skis, the groomers had just worked their magic! What a treat it was to ski on perfectly groomed new tracks! They were almost able to completely erase the deep gouges left by some runner who made his way up the trail a couple of days ago! Watch out for water or ice depending upon when you go in two places. One is on a flat, the other is the last hill back towards the parking lot.

Skied Monday morning and no grooming had occurred. Enough people had skied that there was a little bit of a trail. It wasn't great but it was OK. Only did the short intermediate loop that included the Overlook.

The trails were in beautiful shape. I arrived about 11:45 and the parking lot was full, but there weren't that many skiers. The tracks were nice and sharp, and the corduroy looked ideal. The trees blocked the wind, making it a very nice day to be out. There are a couple spots where some branches need to be trimmed back, but nothing that kept me from doing a few laps. Enjoy them!

It was a very nice afternoon. The tracks were good. There were two porcupines in trees. There was one on the blue loop halfway down the hill, the other one was on the Dippety Dew trail (it was a little bit back in the woods). There had been a dog on the trail, so there were paw prints on the trail.

Great conditions. Look for the porcupine up in the big tree on the left overhanging the trail about 2/3 down EZ Ryder. Third time I have seen it there. Enjoy!
