With 2 inches or so of fresh snow, Piedmont was a busy place. There is a skied in trail where the trail was and even though I had skins on, I did have some clumping at times. My husband had bad clumping with his waxless and the rest of the people "with us" - 6 feet away or more - had non clump spray on wax less and were fine! Would be a treat to see this fresh stuff groomed up!

Wow... today was very surreal! The trails continue to be in great shape and we timed it perfectly for glide. Thick fog made for fun surprises as people magically appeared out of nowhere on the trail! We rarely see anyone out there midday and ran into quite a few people! Some parents taking kids out for "recess or PE", others just enjoying the amazing mid March conditions! We did see a group of three middle school kids walking on the side of the trail and redirected them.

Surprisingly good conditions! Once you get on the classic-only section, the tracks are in good shape and well-defined. The bottom of the tracks are mostly transformed snow, with just a little bit of ice. You can also step out of the tracks and ski on just transformed snow with no ice. The large downhill on the Black Diamond loop has zero ice and felt safe. No signs of the trail melting to bare ground anywhere! The skate deck looked great with no ice observed.

26F, sunny, breezy. The tracks are in really good shape. they haven't been groomed since before yesterday, when we had a bit of fresh snow fall. The skiing was pretty slow because of the fresh snow, and not at all icy.

Piedmont continues to be in great shape! Not a bit icy either. All the snow from yesterday was well skied in. The tracks are deep and firm and almost 100% intact. There was someone skating with a loose dog today, reminder, that dogs are not allowed on ski trails and there is a leash law.

Just enough new snow fell in the morning to make for fun hard-wax skiing on the existing classic tracks. At mid-morning, I skied using Swix Special Blue in the kick pockets with air temperature 30 degrees F. Returned in the evening at 5:30 p.m. and added some Swix V55 Violet-Red with air temperature 34 degrees F. Skins might work well with the bit of new snow. Photos show how changeable March skiing can be, going in just twenty minutes from gloomy mixed-precipitation to bright, sunny evening.

Piedmont is by far the best classic tracks I've been on in awhile. The trail has consistently been debris free, firm deep tracks with virtually all corners in tact. It was unique skiing on fresh snow today, it's been awhile. The tracks were slower with the half inch of new stuff, but based on the snow that came up from previous skiers, the conditions underneath would have been a double pole derby. Still very well worth the drive from anywhere!

Wow! Mid winter conditions mid March! What a difference a Piston Bully makes! Aside from the half herringbone someone prior to us did on the uphills while the track were soft, and some deer who enjoyed the new grooming, Piedmont is in absolute mint condition! Well worth the drive from anywhere! All snow, no ice, no debris, great tracks!

We timed it right at Piedmont! The tracks are still in great shape, firm, well formed and it was just starting to soften when we arrived. Unfortunately people have walked up the middle and on the sides of the tracks, luckily not on the tracks! This would be worth the drive from anywhere!

Wowza! Best tracks I think I've ever skied. These tracks are totally bomb proof. Deep, solid and fast but not icy. Get to Piedmont now! Piston Bully grooming after the freeze makes all the difference.
