I usually don't ski here as Elver is easier to get to and golf courses usually aren't very exciting but after two months at Elver needed a change. Very good skating considering last weekend's weather. A nice wide skate deck that was not as hard as Elver's with more snow, appeared to have more depth as well. Only one large icy patch close to the Beltline easily avoided, no litter which is a problem at Elver now. Classical tracks still present throughout but pretty much iced over. Very good skating. Now if they could just move the Beltline...

Not even worth trying. 4 inches of dense snow that 20 people have skied through that subsequently went through a thaw and freeze. 36 hours have elapsed since we got snow on a weekend and nothing has been groomed. Hope they’ll get around to it some time this week.

I strided here on Sunday and I would give it a 10/10. I went late in the day and the track was set up nicely - no ice, no leaves, and a beautiful sunset was the icing on the delicious cake. I also skied Odana today (MLK Day). I went in the morning before the crowds showed up. I'll give it an 8/10 for today because it was a touch icy in spots and there were just a few scattered leaves here and there (easy to avoid). This kind of skiing in the city has been a rarity in recent years. There were people out with their kids, giving them all the instruction that they needed. It's great to see people doing this with the little ones.

What a treat to be skiing in Madison already after we set a record for snowiest October on record with 8 inches over the past three days. Decent manmade track around the golf course. Some icing in the low spots but otherwise well worth the trip. Might stick around for the weekend given the cold temps in the forecast.
