Fun novelty ski in the fresh snow at our local golf course. Of course it hadn't been groomed but it was fun to break trail in the 5-6 inches of fresh snow. It was very dense since it's warm. Almost felt like skiing through wet cement. Nice to be out for a late season ski!

I'm sure that the groomers were out earlier in the day and did a wonderful job but sadly Mother Nature has played a trick on us all. A combination of fluffy snow and high winds have blown snow drifts out on much of the trail. I don't know how to skate ski yet but I wouldn't recommend coming out here since the drifts can sometimes been a foot deep. The classic ski tracks are in a similar condition. I would only come out if you feel like breaking in some trail in some very fluffy snow.

Sunny midday classic ski with the Nordeast trains whistling in the background. Tracks were clean and firm. Shallow is a few spots but never washed-out. Having never skied here before, I thought I was having a very slow ski day after looking at my time for the first loop. The distance is listed as 3.5km, but my GSP showed just under 5km. Nice little gem of a course.

Smoothed out the skate deck and reset the classic tracks. With the warmer temps coming up it's going to be great skiing over the next few days!

Skied late afternoon, temps still below zero. Nasty wind was picking up out of the NW, made it not so pleasant even with the sunshine. Trail was in good condition, a little drifting slowing things down a little. Look forward to skiing again on a warmer day.

Columbia was perfect this afternoon with a nice solid, smooth skate deck. Classic track looked good everywhere with just a little drifting in a few places. Best conditions I've ever seen out there!

Columbia is groomed for skate and classic again this morning. It is in great shape, so go brave the cold and ski! It's March 3rd! It's like skiing overtime in Minneapolis!

Thanks groomers for such a fabulous job of taking care of this lovely fresh snow! The tracks were great and the skate deck looked lovely. Will be back tomorrow to check it out. I had to ask a few snowshoers to please stay off the groomed skate deck. There is a problem at Columbia with walkers, joggers, hikers and snowshoers on the skate deck and classic track so if you see them please kindly explain to them to stay off the groomed trail.

Columbia is groomed for skate and classic as of this morning. There is a lot of snow out there! It's beautiful and everyone should get out and ski today! This is as good of March skiing as anyone could ask for. Enjoy!
