2019-2020 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 16    Month: Mar | Jan | Dec | Nov

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Wonderful skiing! The main trails (Bambas, Birch Highlands, Sommer) are being groomed every few days (no classic tracks). Firm, flat base. Some tree debris, and a few slightly icy spots, but with these long and warm days, the best skiing of the winter! I had the trails to myself late morning, so "social distancing" couldn't be easier...

Grooming

New snow transformed Hidden Valley from a skaters to a classic skiers paradise. We received 6 inches of fresh dry powder and we have classic tracks everywhere.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skaters paradise. Occasional minimal midday thaws have not saturated the snow surface. Grooming out the glaze leaves a perfect skate deck. Enough loose for edging but plenty of firm and fast base beneath. With 18+ inches of packed dry base we should be skiing for quite a while. Grooming will continue at least twice per week.

This was my first time at Hidden Valley. Loved the terrain with some fantastic hills. Base was great with a light dusting of new snow. Classic and skate was well groomed.

Perfect conditions with excellent grooming on all of main network and Sommers Loops. Ungroomed but firm skier-set tracks on Pine Park and connector. Soft sides in Pine Park with posthole poling.

Great conditions for both skate and classic. Fabulous grooming as usual. The trees with snow are simply magical. Well worth the trip north.

Great late afternoon conditions on Bambas. Skied three laps before it got too dark and enjoyed a solid deck and fast snow throughout. Based on the amount of snow they have it is safe to assume the other trails would be about the same.
