New tracks were set today. On Sunday we received 5-6” of new snow that was incorporated into the existing base. The tracks formed beautifully. The daytime temperatures will be above freezing for the next several days, but the trails will firm up again overnight. It was beautiful out there.

New tracks were set today on all the loops of the Drummond Ski Trail. We had about four inches of new snow which was incorporated into the base. Tracks are well formed. Due to the mid-thirties temperatures, they will most likely soften and then freeze, making them fast. We may be getting a few more inches of snow tonight, which will slow the tracks down. The sun and shadows make sit beautiful out there.

The trail was absolutely perfect on Thursday afternoon - one of my best ski outings ever. Thank You to all groomers! And, Thank You to Jim Crandall in particular for the regular updates which are a major factor in deciding whether to make the trip from Eau Claire to Drummond to ski on this wonderful trail system.

All of the loops at the Drummond Ski Trail were renovated and new tracks were set today. Conditions are excellent with full depth tracks. Some downhills have not been tracked to allow for slowing down by snowplowing. Thanks to Dale for doing such a nice job.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
With the temperature just getting above zero today, new tracks were set on all the trails. The new snow that fell before we went into the deep freeze was rolled and incorporated, but the underlying base was difficult to scarify leading to shallower than normal tracks. Skiing should be good, but fast. On downhills in many places, no tracks were set to allow for snowplowing.

Lots of new snow. Wonderful trail system. Not groomed as of Monday afternoon. Had a great ski following the tracks of others.

Snow-snow-snow. About 7”, but it is stopping. Grooming plans: We’ll get out to compact the new snowfall and set track as soon as the temperatures get above zero or so. For now, you’ll have to break trail like in the old days. Stay warm.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All of the trails have new tracks. A thorough renovation was done to break up the old crust and to mix the 4” of new, fluffy snow into the mix. Tracks are well formed. The downhill section of Jackrabbit, plus a few other places where snowplowing has been the practice have been redone, but without tracks. Thanks to Jim for renovating and Dale for setting tracks.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All of the Drummond Ski Trails have new tracks. Yesterday Dale combed out and set some tracks after we received 6" of heavy, wet snow. Today, Jim set tracks anew, but had to break through a coating of ice from the freezing drizzle. Tracks are well formed and full depth. The trees are coated with snow and picturesque.

Conditions at the Drummond Ski Trails are marginal. Only about 2/3 of tracks are still holding shape, with the rest washed out. Hills are especially precarious. The tracks that are holding up are good yet, but caution is advised on the hills. We will not be attempting to groom again until significant new snow is received.
