I didn't go far - trail looks rolled and maybe even track set in some places. Some people have skied it, at least. It hasn't been re-groomed or rolled and is very icy. Under conifers, there are lots of needles and twigs. On the parts I was on, near the TH there was no bare ground. Someone walked on the skijoring trail and left deep prints, sometimes in the classic track.

Skied Bally today late morning/early afternoon as well as yesterday. Trails are holding up but after lunch was sinking a bit on the open road trails. In the woods in the shade it was delightful. The timely recent grooming is making this a must visit trail once conditions cool off again. Great job!

Skied thru Bally Creek down the Wolf Alley connector to Pike Lake Road and back up wandering my way back to the parking lot. Plenty of snow and good grooming. Tracks were glazed but skins worked. Woof Alley was folly poly on the downs and quite fast. Some stubble and roots were poking thru so caution advised on the fast downhills. The trail across Pike Lake Road was groomed and some other skiers said coverage was good down thru the state park. It was so great to see this trail reopened after so many years! Many thanks to whomever cleared it and is now grooming it.

Lots of snow still up in the high ridges inland from the North Shore. Most of these trails are well-shaded, so the snow is still solid and the tracks are in good shape. Skied the full Sundling Creek Loop and then the Bally Creek loop up off the Forest Road 158. The Wolf Alley connector trail down to Cascade River SP has also been recently tracked, though I didn't take that.

Really nice ski at Bally Creek! The one inch plus snow in the morning made for a perfect ski! The groomer was out yesterday setting tracks and those ski trails that were not groomed yet were also good as we could go in the tracks with the snow in them. We loved skiing in this kind of trail-single track through beautiful woods! The only place at Bally Creek that we would stay away from is the Biddle Boys trail as the tracks were not set on the downhill and due to narrow trails it was not a pleasant experience!

Skied most of the Bally Creek Trails today, my first time this season. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was compared to what I was expecting. The grooming was better that I have experienced in years. Tracks were firm, and surprisingly given the freeze thaw cycles we have been thru were not glazed. Coverage was very good except for some stubble. Most of the trails seemed to have a wider and firmer groom (good enough for double poling) than I was expecting and all were groomed. The ski down to Cascade State Park system was even skier groomed which I have not seen in years (Did not ski this portion of trail but tracks went down it and came out at the bottom on Pike Lake Road). Make sure to make a donation in the donation box in the parking lot.

Lots of fresh snow. Tracks were set on the southern trails, but we were pushing through fresh snow for several miles on the upper trails, especially north of the pond. Saw fresh packing and smelled like we just missed the snowmobile on the way out in the afternoon. Looks like lots of fresh grooming for new year's day. Empty parking lot when we started around 11-- full when leaving around 3!
