2021-2022 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 14    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec
Saturday, March 12, 2022
Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
While beautiful weather today, the trails have not been groomed for several snowfalls, and out on Moose Rub Trail across the creek, tough slogging through very deep snow. But it was gorgeous and no mosquitoes!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Central loops groomed and tracked- Oscar, Rabbit Run, Wildlife Pond, Skijoring and Choo Choo. Looked like some trail packing was started heading north up the road. Beautiful conditions. Poles punched through a bit, but otherwise pretty smooth and fast.

Not groomed since before Feb 20th, not since the large snow amounts recently. People have skied there anyway.

Central-core/shorter-loops not groomed since Friday and Saturday's fresh snows. Not bad skiing. Beautiful out. Extremity trails have not been groomed since quite a few snows ago. Slow going there.

Gorgeous ski after last night's snowfall. Skied from the SE parking lot on the Sundling Creek loop which had been groomed for classic probably in the last 48 hrs. Got to Moose Yard and stopped – looked like it had been skied in the last week but maybe not groomed.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Snowmobiles have driven on previously groomed and set sections of the trail that are on the forest service road from the parking lot north. Parking lot plowed. Choo Choo, Homestead 1900, Oscar, Wildlife Pond, and Skijoring trails groomed/set. Some of those the previous day, some a couple snows ago that were still pretty good. Not groomed for quite awhile-maybe a couple weeks; some longer than that: Kirk's Run/Eagle Mtn. Overlook, Upper Sundling, Pines, and Mooseyard. I think the Bally Creek Loop and Moose Rub Trail area has only been groomed and set once this year, maybe a month or more ago. Pretty sure the Cascade connector trail has not been groomed or set at all, although the access trail to it has been snowshoe packed most of its length. Beautiful surroundings, beautiful day.

Great Skiing!! Such lovely trails and snow everywhere and more coming today. Some trails have not been groomed or set all season. Map uploaded showing in green the trails with groomed tracks set and showing in red the trails that have not had tracks set yet. Unmarked trails I did not observe first hand and so I left those in black on my trail map. We broke trail to get to the Cascade Connector and I saw that other people have broken tracks on other trails with no grooming.

Great snow in all the north land, and looked like the groomer had been out in the morning. Full parking lot but didn't see many people out on the trails. This report is from my mother while we skied Sugarbush.
