Skiing was great. Classic track was well formed with traction. Skate deck was hard. Great ski. A few pine needles on trail near start, otherwise good.

Great conditions, most trails have been groomed and tracked in the last 24hrs. Some trails have 2 inches of recent snow.

May of been groomed on Wednesday but the overnight snow covered that. Firm deck but two inches of new snow on it.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The new snow yesterday greatly improved conditions. Slow with shallow tracks, but new snow gives control on a very hard base. All of the bare spots from yesterday are covered up.

Course had not been groomed in some time and was very icy. There were some bare spots that could be avoided other than the evergreen down across the trail. It broke in several pieces so I was able to remove it, but the needles remain.

Trails were still in good "spring skiing" condition this morning. Skate deck was icy early as expected, but by late morning softened up nicely and was really nice. Classic tracks were set and look to be holding up well.

Good ski this afternoon most trails were groomed in the late morning, some were not but still skied well. One of those was the outside passage using moose pass to access the trail (photo). Skate deck still good. Classic tracks were well formed but had snow in them. The other groomed trails were good but classic tracks were wiped in a few spots. Kind of odd but again the trails that were groomed Friday morning were real nice.

Skated Jack lake late afternoon. Light was ending so only skied inner loop but conditions were very good in the skate lane. Used my good skis. An inch or two of new snow was not yet groomed, but did not present a problem. Trail skied fairly fast and nicely. 38 degrees so with colder temps at night we'll see if ruts set in without additional grooming. Diagonal tracks were in good shape but were pretty icy. They were fun if you were going downhill or double poling. Probably hard to wax for. Did take a header and wrenched my ankle a bit when my ski suddenly lurched to a stop. Turns out what I hit and stopped my ski so suddenly was um... created by a dog.

Breaking news after a number of years the outside passage trail is groomed and open at Jack lake. The twisty turns and roller coaster hills were a joy to ski. We skied from the end of the moose pass trail east across the snowmobile trail, it was two miles of fun on skis. The rest of trails were hard base with an inch of new snow on top. Felt real good on the feet, then about noon it got real slow due to warm temps.

Great ski today. Trails were firm to hard and flat, tracks well formed everywhere. Corduroy was great to good due to some spots cord was scrubbed off. All in all great ski.
