Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Even though not re-tracked last night, the NTN trails were Spring granular snow on a firm enough base for enjoyable not-slow ski skating this morning, starting our Easter Morning ski at 8:45AM. There are classic tracks, as well. The trails that were not tracked two days ago (Bagwagi, Chiwagi) were actually speedier and better skiing, due to having had less traffic on them yesterday, since those trails were icier yesterday and skiers sort of avoided them. However all trails today were nice Spring skiing, at least until about 10AM when the sun makes the snow slower. We ended our outing at 10:15AM just about 15 min. after the daily slow-down had begun. All in all, nice skiing on not dirty but not pristine snow. But, I think after today we will be getting out the B skis or Rock skis, just because the vegetable matter is starting to get on the tracks more.

Soft conditions on the skate deck but the tracks were firm and fast. Plenty of snow, so conditions should be good once temperatures cool.

Thanks to Noquetrails for rolling from the Forestville trailhead out Animoosh and back on the Noque trail. The rolled section was perfectly suited to skating, and some other skiers were out there skating as well as classic skiing. We classic skied beyond the rolled section, in tracks made by other skiers. A very nice first time this year ski on new snow. The trails are all open, but of course the trails are not all groomed.
