Early this morning classic tracks were icy and difficult to ski. Was not possible to get an edge on the sate deck o to the frozen snow. Lots of walking activity occurring with the warmer weather.

Wow! Kudos to the groomers. The conditions today for skate or classical skiing are the best that I can recall in many years. Also, thanks to the walkers for, in large part, staying off the groomed trails.

All the main trails in the system were groomed Wednesday with a new classic track set. The side cut trails south of the river have not been done yet. Enjoy!

The Sheboygan Jaycee Trails at Evergreen Park and Maywood received approximately 3” of new snow today. All trails were groomed and tracked late afternoon and evening. Great conditions! The colder weather is keeping the walkers away, but the deer herd out there were very active.

I skied at Evergreen/Maywood at noon today. The trails were in good shape as we received a little over an inch of snow. At around 2 PM groomer Terry Knier groomed the entire system. The skate deck and classic track are excellent shape!

We skied the upper north Maywood trail in the late morning. By the time we were finished, around noon, the trails were getting soft and sticky because it was getting warm. Best time to ski is early. It felt so good to get out and ski again. Trails were beautiful. There was one obstacle. A cinder block in the middle of the tracks. Keeps things interesting. Saw lots of deer. Thank you to all the groomers who spend there time making Wisconsin a great place to live in the winter.

The Jaycee Trails at Evergreen Park and Maywood received 7”of dense, moist snow on Sunday. Very nice texture for grooming! All trails were groomed and tracked Sunday night after a heavy use today from snowshoes and walkers. The groomed trails should set up nicely. I had to to shovel snow onto the trail in three spots: NE corner near HWY 42 and on the top of two uphills (the steep one between Camp Evergreen and Evergreen Park Picnic Area #1 and the North/South two-way trail between Camp Evergreen and the Pigeon River). I got stuck going up the latter.

Evergreen and Maywood south were groomed again today. There had been a lot of foot traffic on the trails this week. A classic track was set but in some areas it is quite thin and bare ground is exposed. I skied the skate deck afterwards and it is soft. Some gravel, some bare areas and some roads to cross, therefore rock skis recommended.

We skied the upper north of the river in Maywood. There is a new section on the west side that was tracked (never tracked before). This was great. It made the trail longer. It just felt so good to get out.
