Good ski today. Trezona is a fun ski, close to downtown Ely. It winds around Miner's Lake for about 4 miles. Interpretive signs along the trail describe the five mines that dug out the pit you are going around. The mines dated from the 1800's. Some of the old equipment and buildings are still present, making for an interesting jaunt. Dogs are allowed on the trail, but unfortunately some owners aren't picking up after their dogs.

Snow from the past several days has been packed and groomed. The Trezona was groomed with classic tracks and a skate lane. Conditions are great and so is the weather. Get out and enjoy winter. Happy New Year! Please remember that the Trezona is a multi-use trail, approved for skiing, hiking and dogs are allowed, so conditions can deteriorate quickly. Awesome trail right in town. This urban trail has a lot to offer, and is an excellent example of a multi-use trail. We had a great ski here on fresh grooming on what could have been an icy mess from the heat the day before. Other communities could learn a lot from this trail. Nice job Ely!

Very good ski conditions around Miners Lake in Ely. Six inch base with freshly groomed tracks made for a good two hours plus ski. Our skin skis worked very well with temps just below freezing. Skating would be good except for a few areas of debris from the snow plow.
