All trails were groomed today with tracks set. Good conditions with full coverage. Reminder this is a multi-use trail that allows skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and dog walking all on the same trail.

Grooming plans: The groomer plans to heads out in the evening today to groom the entire trail. There's no parking fee required to park and use the Lone Rock trailhead.

After the first grooming of the season, the groomer reported conditions were surprisingly fair to good condition with minimal bare stretches--unusual for this very exposed and windswept trail system. The Lone Rock Trail connects to the trail system at the adjacent Whitetail Woods Regional Park. The Lone Rock Trail is owned and operated by the University of Minnesota, though Dakota County Park staff groom the trail for XC skiing.
