Beaver brook was in good to fair condition this morning. The base was firm and the classic tracks we solid for most the trail, but maybe starting to glaze in a few sections. The oak leaves are starting to add up though. You could probably use your best skis, but watch for twigs if you do.One section on the far end of the east side was not groomed and still had branches over the trail from our early ice storms. Assuming a lot of the trail looked like that earlier in the year, my thanks go out to the groomers. They had their work cut out for them to get the trail to its current condition.

Good stride skiing can be found on the Beaverbrook trails. I was able to use my good skis as there was about 4-5 inches of now snow and it was still snowing. The trails had been recently groomed and offered good coverage and control on the downhills. Most of the ice has been covered with the new snow and the kick in the track was good. I hot ironed and corked Toko Mint for kick. Trails are opened to dogs.

The trail was in good condition. I'm guessing they groomed yesterday morning after the snow, so there was some light powder on top the trail and more light snow continuing to fall while I was out. Tracks were good in most spots. You could tell there was an icy base under the snow, but I had no issues keeping kick wax. One section of the west side was not groomed yet. I did not try the east side, so I am not sure on its condition.

Wow, this is a hidden gem of a classic only ski trail. It has great flow through the woods and both short and long loop options. The trail and tracks were firm, but did have some fluffy snow on top from the clippers we have been getting. If you follow my tracks, you should have some good speed. Some of the bigger hills did not have tracks, so if you are someone who needs tracks on a downhill, keep that in mind. None of the hills were too hard though.
