Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
At Wildlife Road I saw beautiful, mostly clean track to the south, so I took a good set of classic skis for distance touring. Wrong! I was way too fast on that narrow two track classic trail. Back at the car an hour later, I got the wood skis (considered a B set) and took the north trail. Good ski choice with a lot more leaves and tree litter down. Track on the north was inconsistant due to ice beneath the new snow. Still, there was way more speed than typical on the wood. The ski track going part way into the bushes off trail was mine. I took a brief tour South also on the wood skis. That new snow in and out of track is fast!

Today, Beaver Brook East and West Trails were groomed and tracked. The trails look good, but skiers can expect some debris/branches from previous the ice storm. Bundle up and enjoy!

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed trails in Beaver Brook will not officially open until January 6th in accordance with the WIDNR agreement. All trail users are welcome to use the trails in the meantime but day time grooming can only happen after the conclusion of deer hunting season. Backcountry skiing and snowshoeing should be great after the 20 inches of snow received this past week.
