Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Probably groomed the trails for the last time today. Didn’t have a lot of time to spend out there today. I let the new groomer operator take over so if it looks like it was groomed by a 1 year old... it was. Spring is very near!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Most of the trail system, I would say about 95%, was recently groomed with a different grooming machine that I haven’t seen before. See the picture. There were several places on the trail where it appeared the grooming equipment got stuck. See the picture. Overall, I would rate trail conditions as very good except for these few spots. These trails are just being groomed for freestyle. There are no classic tracks.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
This trail can be a real challenge when conditions are fast. Thankfully, that was not the case this evening. The trail had been groomed but not tracked. There were several inches of new snow on top the the skate deck since the last grooming. That made for a little slower speed than normal which was ok with me considering how hilly this trail is. I skied the entire trail system twice. Overall conditions were good.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Had an “old timey” ski with powder over skate deck and no track set. Following the multiple previous skiers had me remembering “railroad tracks”, skied in track that rose in uneven lines above the surrounding fluff, skis skittering off here and there, with no sidewall to guide the skis. Nothing wrong with it, plenty of fun to be had here, just unusual.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Glorious day to be in the protected, snowy woods, considering the temp (+7 F.) 2-3 inches of new snow on Minocqua's considerable base and Schlecht's rolled trails made following our own tracks a pleasure.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trail had not been groomed since fresh snowfall but no evidence of tracks ever having been set. This would be at least the second year in a row without tracks. Disappointed as this used to be a fun trail close to Minocqua.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Most trails are groomed for skating after 1” of fresh snow this morning. Grooming crew spent most of the afternoon picking up sticks and debris to clear trails.
