The blue and green loops are is good shape. Skate deck fairly even and classic tracks for most part look ok. The board walks are getting bare in places and the north side of Pikes Flowage along the red/yellow trails has bare spots. Appreciate the groomers efforts this season to keep it skiable.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Trails were packed on Navarino Friday afternoon. Ski trails are all covered with about an inch and half snow over the hard pack snow / ice base. There was not enough snow to cut new tracks. Trails are covered and open even when nature center building is closed.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Trails are about 90% covered and re-groomed with the 2" that we received. Open areas are wind swept and bare. Forest and prairie areas are good with new tracks in the snow, hard pack base underneath.

Overall there's decent coverage on the red and yellow trails. However, in the classic track there are frequent areas that are covered with debris or really, really, thin.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Attempted a skate ski this morning on blue and green. Some segments were too narrow to skate (e. g., boardwalk) and the entire skate deck was uneven throughout. Lots of leaves and other scattered debris, and some thin spots, and the classic tracks looked to have debris throughout our route. That said, would have probably had more success on classic gear, but decided to move on. Nonetheless, we appreciate the efforts of the nature center, and trust their "intro to cross country skiing" class later this morning had a grand time.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Ski trails on Navarino were groomed on Monday. Snow base is about 6" of solid base with a couple of inches of light snow on top. Double tracked for going out and coming back, with a skate ski deck in between. Snowshoers are advised to use the packed snowshoe trails and to stay off the ski trails. New winter trail maps are available.

Groomer was out working the fresh snow and the trails were in great condition. Classic track set and look nice and the skate deck was in good shape.

Enjoyed an evening classic ski. Many thin areas with dirt and leaves exposed but easy to avoid. B skis recommended.
