All ski trails are closed for the season due to warming temperatures and loss of base. Thanks for coming out to enjoy the trails this year, we look forward to another good season next year!

I skated all of the trails at Chomonix Sunday evening right around sunset, and found it to be a good ski despite the warm recent air temperatures. Sure, the snow cover is getting thin (I did have to remove a ski and hop access pavement at the bridge when northbound from the club house), there were a few spots under sun-soaked trees where the ski surface had that wet, snow-cone-like consistency, and the debris on the northern wooded trails is getting concentrated as the snow melts, but it was still good skiing. The classic tracks are there and look decent in a few places, but have mostly lost their definition throughout the trail system. Also ran into a herd of 12 deer hanging out on the trail which was cool. Feel fortunate to have squeezed in another ski before this week's warm-up. Thank you to Anoka County and the groomer for this place to ski!

I went out today around 11am, 25 degrees and sunny. Well, the good parts were good, but the bad was... bad. Areas of complete and wet ice, and some tree debris on parts of the track that tripped me up. Got a brand new gouge in my new skis. The south loop was in much better condition, but the north loop into the woods had some bare patches and that ice and debris to avoid.

Skied all the north trails - better than I expected after yesterdays thaw. Still good classic tracks with very few wash outs. Two icy patches that will be pools as the temps rise, and two patches of bare grass, but all easily avoidable since this is a pretty flat course. Some oak leaves in the woods. Not much corduroy left on the multi use trails and lots of footprints, but several skaters seemed to be enjoying it anyway. Chickadees are singing their spring song, so get out and enjoy!

Tracks were solid and fast in open areas. The wooded sections were so filled with leaves and twigs that it was better to step out of the tracks. The skate deck was firm and in good condition. Only a few small bare patches under trees on the south end of the golf course. Hopefully new snow will freshen things up.

With the great temperature and no wind, I really wanted a great experience but there were a lot of leaves and other debris in the classic tracks..frustrating. Good snow coverage, no bare spots. In the open spaces, the snow was really nice. We need more snow or a leaf blower! The skate deck looked better. I saw one skater and he was moving along pretty nicely. Someone said the golf course side was much better, didnĀ“t have time to check that out.

Skated multiuse this morning and full course mid day. Nice grooming, deck was pretty firm this morning and a little less so mid day but still sounding crunchy. Lots of nice people out enjoying trails. One odd thing was someone drove a vehicle on skate deck between Sandpiper Dr and Marshan Lane. It was firm so tracks were shallow. Hopefully they at least kicked in for a ski pass. Plenty of coverage, skiing should be good all weekend at least!

I skated the orange and green loops this morning. It seemed like the trail was groomed a few days ago but had not been skied on since. Skate deck was firm and fast. Classic tracks looked perfectly set. Some leaves and sticks on the portion of the green loop that winds through the woods but not a big problem.
