Trail Detail
Notes
The trail weaves its course through ever changing scenery dominated by maples, then birch, pine and hemlock. It oversees two river basins: the Prairie flowing west and Hunting flowing east.Trail Reports

With about 5 inches of new snow, the trail was dragged yesterday and dragged again today and tracked. It is in very good condition for both classical and skate skiing and the trail is firm. Yesterday afternoon the snowshoe trail was dragged to allow people to go on the trail side by side.

Received 4 inches of snow today and the entire trail was groomed but not tracked as still some thin areas. Trail is a little soft but in very good condition for skate skiing and classical skiing without tracks. Snowshoe trail also in very good condition.

With temperatures getting down to 10 the past two nights, the trail withstood the 40's yesterday. The base is present on the whole trail with some open patches in the trail on the Muskellunge Loop and rocks are still exposed on the Luge Loop. Not enough snow for tracks but trail was good for skate skiing and looked like it is also good for classical. Snowshoe trail is also very good.

Trails have ok coverage with some grassy spots. I skated down the Muskellunge and up the center Expressway.

Received about an inch of snow yesterday. Rolled entire trail and dragged the skating side on the outside loop. Trail is not tracked and where dragged hit the ground in a couple of spots. Luge Loop still has some rough areas but overall should be good for classical and skate skiing.

Received another inch of snow last night and the trail was rolled but not dragged or tracked. With skate skiing there are a few thin areas and a couple of times I hit the ground, but overall the skiing was good. Should be better for classical technique. Still some exposed rocks on the Luge Loop. Snowshoe trail is in good condition and can just use boots.

With 2 inches of new snow, the ski trail was rolled but not dragged or tracked. There is about a one inch base and the trail would be better for classical rather than skate skiing. The Luge Loop has some exposed rocks.

With 3.5 inches of new, fluffy snow on top of an inch base the entire trail was rolled, but not dragged and not tracked. The trail is in good condition except the Luge where some rocks are still exposed. I classical skied and did a little skate skiing on the shortest loop and it is skiable.

After the warm weather earlier in the week, the trail has a 1 inch base and is in fair to good condition for classical skiing except the Luge Loop which has rocks exposed in areas. The trail is not tracked. I would not suggest skate skiing until there is more snow.
