Thanks to the groomers for doing a fantastic job on Monday. Skied most of the course. A few twigs in the woods but otherwise the best skiing so far this year. Lack of wind helps tremendously.

Great conditions at Quarry Hill on Sunday. All roughly 10km are open. The groomer was out and tracks were being reset as I skied. The base is quite deep and debris is minimal on the trail.

The best classic skiing is on the oval around the baseball diamond and the play structure on the portion of the park near Parkwood Hills. I would estimate that 70% of the classic track is in good shape, 15% in fair shape and about 15% non-existent. I found that skiing was the best if I went counter-clockwise, which means that you are moving on a very gradual incline, from south to north on the far side of the oval where the track is in the best shape. Where there is a classic track, the fresh snow fell into the classic track, resulting in a dramatic improvement in the sections of the track that were previously icy. The classic track in the woods to the East of the main parking area, the Nature and the Building with the solar panels is in much greater need of more snow. There is a reasonably decent classic track on, perhaps 40 to 50 percent of this part of the park. I skied the classic track in this part of the park, where it exists, and also did some skate skiing (on my classic skis) in the sections where is does not exist. I had skate skied at Quarry Hill 2 days ago, before yesterday's snow, and things are much improved since then. The open meadow immediately to the West of the two buildings mentioned above has a decent classic track on about 50 to 60 percent of the trail and a good skate deck everywhere. There is quite a bit of debris on the trail and the trail is quite thin in places. I used my good skis without any problems, but you should go with your B skis if you want to be completely safe.

Solid coverage. Some areas have lots of leaves but not much debris that will harm the skis. No classic tracks set.
