Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed the skate deck on the entire system this evening. The tracks are still there and should work for double poling or klister. The skate deck looks great, and should be for a while. I don't think we will be able to groom again until we get some fresh snow. The next warm up might turn things into a hockey rink. But if we don't get more snow, we still are going to have had 3 straight months of skiing! I chuckle when I hear someone complaining about how long our winters are. This year it went from Thanksgiving, to all of a sudden I was lined up for the Birkie. Tomorrow is exactly one year out for the 2021 Birkie, so take advantage of the training opportunity while you can!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skiers will find very good skate and diagonal stride conditions at the Barron Area Nordic Trails. The tracks were firm and deep and offered good control. The skate lane had just been groomed and offered fresh corduroy, plenty of coverage; the deck was level and provided skiers with very good control...enjoy!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We are back in business! The 2-3 inches of fine grained snow this morning covered the boilerplate of last week. The entire system was groomed. It looks great, and with the cold temps (it dropped from 24f to 8F in 3 hours while grooming) we should have a great week to get started training for the Birkie in 12 days. The lights are on daily until 9:15pm.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The entire system was groomed on Thursday evening as the snow was still fresh and untransformed (is that a word?) and the temp was right at 32. It turned out great. Upon inspection Friday evening the skate deck was firm with 1/2 inch of Dream Whip on top and the tracks were solid. I would recommend skiing early in the day this weekend to get the best conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skate deck was getting a little "groovy" so I ran a couple of passes with the groomer. The tracks were left as the are deep and solid. Should be great on Saturday.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The entire system has been groomed and tracked. The combination of the existing base, 6" of new snow and temps headed into the single digits, should make for some great skiing on New Year's Day!

Evening
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All the trails were groomed last night and there were tracks in the woods. Excellent conditions for skating and striding. By far the best pre-X-mas conditions I've seen here.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The entire system got a pass or two with the roller followed by 2 or 3 with the Tidd Tech. Thing should set up nicely overnight to make for some great skiing on the Weekend. Continue parking on the west end as they are still loading logs out of the east. The lights are on from 4:30 until 9:15 pm.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The trails in the woods were groomed with a new skate deck and tracks on Monday night. The south fields were left ungroomed because of the bitter cold. Conditions were excellent on what was groomed. It was expectedly slow, cold snow but made for great striding conditions. I felt well protected form the winds in the woods.
