Trail Reports

2018-2019 season
Reports 1 to 3 of 3    Month: Mar | Feb

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Was really excited to see they had freshly groomed the new snowfall and was dreaming of endless corduroy all day at work. Was disappointed to see the trails had already been overrun and chewed up by snowshoers and dog-walkers (see photos). I gently reminded one dog-walker that the groomed trails are ski-specific and pets are not allowed, and that the groomers work hard to maintain the trails. I only encountered one other skier, and there weren't many other skate or classic tracks. On a brighter note, the classic tracks looked really good for the most part! One of the few metro trails with dual/side-by-side classic tracks.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Upper Loop: Fresh groomed the skate deck, left the classic tracks, as they were set hard and in great shape. Lower Loop: Skate deck groomed throughout. Re-groomed 50% of classic track due to drifting between Cenaiko Lake and the Mississippi River. Snow is firm.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Due to staffing concerns and the volume of recent snows, grooming has been put on hold while maintenance staff focuses on plowing and removing snow piles from park entrances, roads, and parking lots. Grooming will resume later in the week. Apologies for any inconvenience.
