Finally temps in the tolerable range! Despite occasional bark and needles catching my wax, skiing was great! Did the main loop and double tracked section, too.

Good conditions with solid tracks. There was not much trail debris. Air temperature was about 5F. Swix green worked well for kick wax.

Broke trail around the loops. 3" fluffy new snow. so I was the first skier since Saturday!! No pine needles or debris. Other skiers did the middle double tracked section. No pine needles and debris to catch my polar wax.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
High winds, so I headed for cover under the big pines. Found lots of pine needles and twigs to flick off the trail. A few leaf catches on my waxed skis. Discovered that the trail that turns right past the outhouse loops back to groomed trail. Thanks to snowshoers for staying on the side and packing trails wider on the uphill so herringbone was easier. Love when multi uses complement rather than conflict!

[ Good skis ]
A good amount of snow, and most damage from walkers has been corrected by the passing of a few skiers.

So I took my own advice and did ski in the "set tracks" barely visible after 3 inches of snow. A dogwalker obliterated most vestiges of the tracks. No matter! It was a glorious ski through the towering pines and the next skiers will have my tracks to follow. No dirt or rocks, a little brush but very nice classic skiing on that little trail system! Parking lot plowed prior to last night.

DNR groomed and set track yesterday and now there are three inches of fresh snow so could easily ski in!
