Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle

Not grommed but plenty of snow and glide was also good. The first downhill had a down tree so take the bypass at top of hill. It was a faster than expected and trail was fully covered.

Rolled the trail late afternoon - looked to be good coverage throughout. Should set up nicely overnight! Was not able to set classic track - too soft to use YTS groomer with classic attachment.

Great conditions! Best they've been all year. Firm base with a nice even cover of corduroy. I skated but others were out classic skiing and the tracks looks good.

Groomed the new snow this afternoon - new snow really set up well! Our classic attachment has been broken most of the year - back up and running - classic tracks set!

Skied the Irondale trails as the snow fell today. I left the only classical tracks, because that's what I do! There are no bare spots, there is some leaf litter in the trails but it is not significant. The entire system is new snow over crusty firm base.

Groomed late afternoon. Still full coverage throughout trail - about 3 south facing up hills have very thin coverage. Hopefully some new snow this weekend!

Trails groomed this morning - we survived the melt yesterday pretty well. Couple of south facing uphills are thin, but most all the trail is in good shape! The county has been burning buckthorn that was cut last year - there are several spots on the trail where a bobcat has crossed trail. The snow is just dirty - nothing that will damage skis.

Fantastic afternoon of skiing out on the Irondale trails. Such a hidden gem in the north metro! Packed, firm surface for skating. No classic track, but fast and technical. An awesome flow to these trails and the flat portion on the fields is a nice rest from the hills in the woods. Thanks to the Irondale coaches for keeping these trails in awesome shape.

The Irondale trails were freshly groomed (skate deck only no classic track.) Snow is in great shape with no bare spots visible when I skied.

Skied the trails this evening. Enjoyed some fresh corduroy... Looks like just one other skier and a fat tire biker beat us to it. The trail is so firm that the biker hardly left a track. Just the one spot on the bottom of the big hill where some small burn debris was present. And some coyote scat just before the most northerly spot where it crosses the walking trail. Get out there and ski these trails at their prime! No classic tracks, but what a blast!
