Crust skiing. No grooming has been done. Bridges gone. No real tracks either. Unsure of north side. Crust is uneven.

Skate deck was rough and rutted but skiable. I started at 10am and by 11:30 it was getting pretty soft. Plenty of snow. Seems like it could be groomed tonight when temps go below freezing. I don't know if the groomers are planning to go out. If the deck doesn't get too chopped up this afternoon might be worth a try Friday morning, especially if they do some grooming. Thanks to the groomers for great work this year!

[ Rock skis ]
Went out at sun up with dreams of crust skiing. The skate deck looked like frozen ruts so was not even thinking about that. Went out for about 20 minutes. The conditions varied so much as I moved along I just called it quits. Looking at the forecast, I am imagining this morning was it if it was meant to be. Big shout out to the groomers this year. It was a great year.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Arrived at 10:30 this morning. Near ideal diagonal striding conditions. 20 degrees and sunny. Blue Swix kicker and Swix green glide wax. Tracks are getting a bit wide from heavy use and there is a lot of side to side ski movement, but the track was fast.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Pretty good conditions despite plenty of grooves from everyone getting out in the "warmer" weather. Was able to set a PR, so can't complain on speed! Was nice to see so many skiers enjoying the trail. Pay attention to the few uneven spots before the bridges but otherwise have a great ski!

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skate deck has set up real nice since a couple days ago. There is a short section just after leaving the trailhead, right before the first bridge, that looks pretty thinly covered and with a lot if debris, but once you get past that, the conditions are marvelous! And who can ask for better weather after what we just came out of?

Excellent conditions Was groomed before 12:00 PM and it was really good. Even an attempt to provide a climb probably for Dr Mark!

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It's been a challenging week waxing for classic striding. Swix green special early in the week and Swix violet special today. Tracks are still in good condition. Skaters seemed to be moving easily. Parking spaces were almost full. It's good to see so many people enjoying one of the silent sports.

Skate deck is firming up nicely. Very good conditions. Snow was a somewhat slower than expected. There was a little dirt on the trail which was easy to avoid. Use larger pole baskets if available.

Skate deck was freshly groomed, with only two ski passes before me. Soft in several areas, but should set up really well during the next day or so. Skiing in the balmy teens was a welcome relief after this past week's polar vortex. Tracks were also freshly set.
