Another great day of skate skiing at the George Young complex near Iron River, MI. Approximately 1/2” to 1” of powder atop the skate lane since the last grooming. Temps in the Upper 20’s, nice glide on Blue lo floro wax. The classic tracks are firm and deep.

Excellent skating conditions today at the George Young recreational complex. Solid clear tracks are set for classic. Our dog enjoyed being out to Skijour.

Excellent conditions: Approximately 4" of fresh powder atop trails groomed earlier this morning. We skated during the current snowstorm. Paul, the groomer, plans to set classic tracks after the storm has passed. Our first experience skating at the George Young Recreational complex was absolutely wonderful! We think the trail system at George Young is the Midwest's best kept secret for skate skiing and utterly shattered our misconceptions of skiing at a golf course. We spent an hour and 15 minutes skating through beautiful woodland trails on gentle rolling terrain. Being the first skiers out this morning, we had the trail system to ourselves. The complex embodies the warmth and vibe of a classic U.P. lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with the very friendly and accommodating staff.
