Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
This will be the final grooming for the winter season. And, nothing like going out with a bang! The extremely wet snow and warm temperatures have resulted in the most solidly-groomed ski trail yet. You know the drill: Avoid parking directly in front of the trail access, clean up after your dogs, and please keep snowshoeing activity to the left side of the trail (and out of the classic-tracked side). Today's a great day to enjoy the gorgeous conditions, so get out there and make the most of it!

Finally! A perfect combination of high-moisture-content snow and warming temperatures have resulted in a solidly-groomed ski trail that holds its boundaries—even in high winds! Get out there and have fun!

Snow base depth 27", Snowfall average depth 44". There's plenty of fresh, white, sugary powder to enjoy these days. Thanks so much for not parking directly in front of the trail access, and for cleaning up after your dogs. Take time to marvel at the fine sculpting, compliments of the wind, and have a lovely adventure!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The groomers spent several hours cutting down drifts and combing the trail like gorgeous cake frosting! The chilly temperatures did not dissuade adventure seekers from enjoying the freshly set tracks. A few reminders: Thanks for keeping the front of the trail access free of parked vehicles, and kudos for keeping snowshoe use to the left side of the corridor. Snow base depth 19", Snowfall average depth 39".

Firsthand: Classic

Skied the loop in the afternoon. Classic track mostly gone either blown in with new snow or trampled by snow shoes. Lots of snow and beautiful woods but I would suggest leaving the skis behind until it's re-tracked.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied this loop after doing Cascade earlier in the day. The snow has been groomed, but no classic tracks set recently. That being said, the snow is in good condition, and there are good tracks from prior skiers on much of the trail. Very little debris, and a beautiful day to ski!

The trail has set up nicely from the recent grooming efforts. The temps have been quite cold but the skiing conditions are excellent. Please continue to practice good shared trail stewardship, and enjoy! Snow base depth = 23", Snowfall average depth = 37".

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Today's grooming endeavor carved down some of the drifts created by the magnanimous winds we've received lately. Continued frigid temperatures should help to set the soft spots. As always, please clean up after yourselves and your dogs. Conditions are excellent, so bundle yourselves and your critters up and get out there!

Grooming

George Washington Pines was groomed this morning at 9:30. Temperature was -14 F but a few hearty skiers were out and ready to hit the trail right after we got done. Get out and enjoy the skiing and the warmer weather that's on the way. Just a friendly reminder to folks.... if you could avoid parking in front of the trail entrance our groomers would appreciate it. Thanks and enjoy! Snow base depth = 17”, Snowfall in the last 24 hours = 3”, Snowfall in the last 7 days = 3”, Snowfall average depth = 25”.
