Trail Detail
Notes
Part of the Governor Knowles State Forest, Brandt Pines is an old-growth stand of large red and white pine along the St. Croix River. Throughout much of the trail, you will either be on the top overlooking the ravine, or right down in it.Trail Reports

Trees have been cleared but the trucks left a rut in the deck in spots. 60/40% good grooming. If you're not training for the Birkie or not too much of a purist, it's alright if the weather is good.

This is not groomed, deep snow. Some enterprising folks have skied but their tracks have been destroyed by snowshoes. There are many fallen trees on the trails and I would be surprised if this is ever groomed. Sadly this is the Grantsburg area's skate ski area but it appears to not be maintained.
