Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Groomed all trails today, except Alpine. We most likely are done for the season grooming Alpine Loop. One bare spot is on Pit Run, the other is by the snow shoe bridge: both fairly easy to ‘skiwalk‘ over.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Broke up old tracks and set new on everything but Pit Run and Alpine. Deck is still solid, with 2 thin spots. I shoveled snow on one to bridge across. The other, I just lifted the paddle. Should be pretty good Spring skiing tomorrow and next week! Don’t let the snow levels in town and around the road sides trick you ~ there’s a good week more of skiing in the woods ~ maybe 2!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Knocked down old tracks and mixed in the tilled up base snow. Set tracks on all trails today. They looked pretty good on almost every area. I lifted the paddle on a few short spots that were beginning to thin, saving snow as long as possible. The narrow trail in Pit Run has begun to have cupped hardened sides, making it impossible for the paddle to cut to full depth. It’s still skiable though. Alpine has it’s bald spot that is getting a little bigger. The track now goes around the rock that magically appeared. ~ ski Alpine with caution. The flats and Harry’s Gulch are still in mid winter condition. Alpine and Pit Run provide some of the most scenic views. Skiing them on less than ideal track conditions can still be a treat at slower speeds.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Tilled up some of the base and mixed in some side snow prior to setting tracks on everything but Alpine Loop and Pit Run. The cuts looked full depth, hopefully doing this will provide some fantastic late season skiing. Terry O was out skiing, on the fresh groomed, doing some track packing. He also skied Alpine and Pit Run, skiing in a few drifted sections. His report from the bare area on the Alpine downhill is to either ski/ walk over the grass or negotiate another way through the trees ( too tight to get groomer through ). I broke up the crust on the downhills and leveled the boot tracks of the walkers that seemingly can’t grasp the situation. Get out there and grab it while the white stuff is still here!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Buzzed around many times, broke up glazed crusty tracks, pulverized and mixed in base along with as much snow that the wings could pull in from the edges. Did not get to Pit Run, due to darkness ( no back light). Track cuts felt fairly soft, they should set up pretty well tonight and provide some good skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Took a few laps, breaking up the old tracks as well as the deck surface. Set tracks on everything except Pit Run. Track cuts looked pretty good on the final passes. Always a treat to see skiers enjoying the trails. One sent me a pic of a track inspector with 4 legs checking out the fresh tracks.

Trails are in good shape and quite fast. Not a lot of debris in tracks. Some grooming was taking place as I was leaving. Thanks Denny!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Broke up the old icy tracks, and reconditioned the snow. Set tracks on entire trail system. A section on Alpine under the pines is starting to look a bit thin. We plan on scooping some additional snow on that area next week. The newly set tracks looked a lot better. The tracks might be a little soft until the newly mixed snow from the edges compresses and sets up better. Skiing hopefully will be much better for everyone over the upcoming weekend.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Knocked down tracks, and did a little mixing and combing to reset tracks with non glazed cuts. Enjoyed meeting the Barands family from Helena MT stopping with their family to get in a little leg stretch ski on their way to the Birkie. Always great to see the joy of skiing and being outdoors as a family and lifestyle activity! Thanks skinnyski for being able to promote the activity at Black’s and all of the other ski venues! The new set tracks looked a bit soft and kid friendly!

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After multiple passes, sweeping the edges for good snow and breaking up the crusty stuff, tracks were set on about half of the trails. Did not do anything on Pit Run or Alpine. Tracks coming out from the cutter looked pretty good with just a few areas of ornery none conforming snow. Plans are to finish on Wednesday. Section 8 ski race at Maplelag tomorrow!
