Put rakers down just a little, seemed to help mixing in some of the denser snow. Track cuts looked great. The deep snow has helped level the trails on Pit Run, making the downs much more controllable. If you have not experienced the little more old style backwoods Pit Run and Alpine sections, they are a lot less fuzzy and less challenging with the deep snow. They still have their pine tree charm and stream side charm. Now is a great time to see why one is called Alpine.

Packed and groomed all trails today. Track cuts looked great with no leaves or debris. The fluffy new snow should set up fairly well this evening providing great ski conditions this upcoming week.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Four inches of snow overnight helped clean things up! Track cuts looked as good as they can be. All trails were groomed. Buried sled on a turn, went off the deck. Did not go all the way around again to tidy up the mess left from shoveling, unhooking ~ so about 16 feet of oops to ski over!

My wife and I skied most of the trails in below zero conditions. Very impressed with the grooming, as set tracks were in great condition and the rolled part of the trails was appropriately wide - good and smooth. The snow was pretty hard so it helped to have a consistent trail surface everywhere. We had so much fun we did most of the trails twice over. The only negative was that there were leaves and twigs on the trail in several areas but it was pretty clear that they had suffered a wind event. Regardless, it was a great day of skiing.

Put rakers down, mixing snow and hopefully providing a little cleaner tracks to ski in. It looked like it was somewhat cleaner in the new set tracks. The tree by the Boy Scout Bridge was cut and removed. Pit Run has filled in with enough snow to level the trails, Alpine Loop has more than enough on top of the ridge. Mid winter condition!

Trails are great. Pit run has a few overhanging branches, but are easy to avoid. Thanks to all the volunteer trimmers.

All trails were repacked, edges knocked down and tracks were cut. The narrow section through the pines on the bottom of Alpine is narrower yet, very skiable, just cozier. A Big Thanks to all of the volunteers that snipped, clipped, cut and trimmed! I counted 6 cars in the parking lot when I started grooming this morning! Great stuff!

A big Thanks to all of the volunteers that helped get the overhanging branches off the trails! The trails have been packed, track cuts set and the parking lot has been plowed! Time to play!

Trails are close to as good as they can get. Deep firm track cuts, very few leaves in trail, almost solid enough aprons for fully aggressive pole plants. I skied all loops twice, best classic skiing of the year. Great to see cars in the lot and skiers on trails.

What a great trail system! This was my first visit, but I'll be back soon. I enjoyed the variety of terrain and great scenery. I skied during a snowfall, so there was snow on the tracks, but I see that the groomer came through about an hour after I left.
