Trail Reports

2019-2020 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 16    Month: Feb | Jan | Dec

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
“ Thank you” to the groomer, who had just run over the skate lane as far as Red Pine Jnctn, in addition to Prelude and including Lake Loop. He did a good job given the glazed or crusty conditions. There was very little debris. The classic tracks looked a little tough in many places. Beyond that, I was also able to ski most of the way to the Tower taking the return loop at “I”. On that part, the trail had enough post-groomed snow over the crust to get propulsion. A couple of the downhills there are quite fast with some ruts in the crustiness, so be ready.

I skied the prelude loop which was just excellent. The skate lane was nice and firm and the tracks were deep and solid.

Perfect new snow conditions- lots of powder. Tracks were easy to find. Skiing outside the tracks was easy too due to perfect snow. Love the hills at Blueberry!

Did all loops that were packed almost to Tower End (followed groomer turnaround at letter I) plus all Prelude. 2" fresh snow easy to ski in track and enjoy the steep downhills with confidence and control.

Prelude loops had been groomed Friday. Good track, smooth skate lane, temps in the 20's, warming house, hot chocolate -- Perfect conditions for beginner youth skiers and families. We did not venture up the big hills.

Firsthand: Both
[ Good skis ]
We waited until late afternoon hoping for some softer safer conditions and maybe new snow. No such luck. Skate lane had been groomed and track set earlier this week. We did Prelude loop many times instead of venturing up the big hills. Too fast! Prelude loop is perfect for beginners.

Groomed Lake Loop down to Lower Junction, packed (with the snowmobile only) to Z junction, classic track on Prelude seems to be holding up, I thought it skied well. Lake Loop is not tracked but is groomed to Pincherry. 5k open and ready to ski.
