Recently groomed trails, with the addition of about an inch or less of new snow overnight, made for excellent skating conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Worked on Lake Loop and Tower loop. Three trips around with knives down on the groomer. The third time track setter also down. Should be good for skiing. Get out and enjoy, as the weather will be getting warm and will start melting the trails.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
I was able to groom the Prelude Loops up to "D" cut across and back down Red Pine out run to Prelude; set track on Inner and outer Prelude Loops and made at least 2 passes on outer Prelude skate lane, should be nice skiing as long as the weather stays cold; about 3.5 K if you ski everything.

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All ]
No grooming done this past week so melt/freeze has made trails fast and icy. Nice set tracks if you use klister. Skate lane pocked from previous skiers when warm.

Since it now stays light long enough after my work day ends, I decided to head over to Blueberry Hills to try some skate skiing. The snow was great for March, and the trails had been groomed several days ago. The skate deck was a little uneven... better for classic than freestyle, but it was fun getting out to this area again. The last loop to the tower was not fully groomed— just packed with the snowmobile, but I went on it anyway.

Recent warm and refreeze has the trails at Blueberry fast and unforgiving with marks frozen in place from skiers. Very skiable for the fearless nimble footed who like fast.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
New snow on the trails was packed on Thursday and Prelude was groomed then also. Lake Loop to "I" junction was flat groomed today and a track was set on Lake Loop to Red Pine junction. From "I" to Tower End is still just rough packed with snowmobiles only. Lots of snow and cold temps made for difficult grooming so there may be some rough spots.

Observation
Three snowmobiles began packing the new 8 inches of snow starting with Prelude loops at noon with groomer Tom in the lead. Temps just above zero, calm, sunny.

Loved skiing in 3 to 4 inches of new snow. Could sometimes still see the track so could ski it in. Soft, fluffy snow so could ski safely down any of the wild ride downhills. Groomer was out packing the skate lane. Great skiing this weekend!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Finally got the whole trail system groomed after the recent snows. Groomed up and around the Tower end today; groomed Lake loop yesterday and set track on same. Set track on Tower return to Red Pine. Tower end trail beyond H junction may be a little soft because it hasn't been used as much, but hopefully will set up nice tonight with cold temps predicted.
