Trails were groomed in the morning. West for skating; east classic. Skied both on a beautiful sunny Day in the sugar maple woods.

Trail conditions were great. The snow was soft in areas that hadn't been heavily skied on. Disclaimer, I was on Yoko YXC Mini's so I was sinking more than normal. Went and double poled the classic sections, tracks were fast and very well done. Kudos to the groomers out there.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
The ski routes were swept and patched yesterday. Grooming will continue over the next few days. We expect pretty good trail conditions for the race on Sunday, keeping the cold temperatures in mind. We recommend rock skis simply because of the hard, somewhat icy trails. Very little bare ground and some leaves (debris) will be on trails. The course is quite hilly and should be very fast with the cold temps and intensive grooming. Skate race modified to 17k for long race and 6k for short. Classic races stay 16k and 7k for long and short races. Free chili and awesome medals for all racers!

Beautiful day at St Johns. Skied pine knob, Ziki, entrance road, and practice field. Base is thin in some spots, soft in others, but overall fantastic. Probably good skis if you're careful of the occasional stick.
