Firsthand: Both Scheduling
[ B skis ]
Trails are in the best shape we've had for the Langlauf despite the warm-up we're seeing. Good conditions on all trails. Being a fully wooded course, there is some debris (leaves, sticks) scattered in places, but nothing to slow you up. Good skis for me, but maybe "B" skis for others. Grooming is planned Friday-Saturday to prepare for Langlauf Ski Race on Sunday. Trails will be closed noon, Friday through Sunday afternoon for grooming and racing the Langlauf!

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
With the good snow (10+ inches) we've received over the past week, ski trails are in great condition. Current grooming this week is focused mostly on the Langlauf ski routes (see Langlauf website for details). Still time to register for the Langlauf Ski Race on Jan 26th.

[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
I know it's early season, but finding 3km of classic tracks that had been driven over by a large piece of heavy equipment was a bummer -- That was on the classic only trail. We also skied Pine Knob trail, but it needs more snow to even it out, and there were tons of oak leaves on the trail. There wasn't a classic track along all of Pine Knob, so we spent time on the skate deck, and it was nice and firm, but plenty leafy as well.

Being that I was in the area, I skied a few kilometers at St John's. Snow was soft, but well groomed. Tracks were set on the classic trails. Some sticks here and there, but no reason the use B skis during the daylight.
