Trail Reports

2019-2020 season

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
I skate skied the entire trail system today. Overall conditions were good to very good. The furthest reaches of the red loop were a bit softer than the rest but still very good. It was a great Spring skiing day today. The big hill with the sharp turn at the bottom has now been re-routed in the opposite directing and it is now called a training loop. Interesting. I kind of miss that WinMan challenge but I can understand why the change was made.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails groomed today with tracks set. Fat tire bike trail also groomed today. Very good conditions on all trails. This will be our last grooming for the season, so come and enjoy the trails one more time. A huge thank you to all of the skiers and bikers who supported WinMan this winter!

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
I skated the 11K loop a few times, which is in fantastic condition - firm deck and a thin layer of fresh snow makes for easy striding and gliding. The track appears very good if not a bit icy on a few segments. All in all these are the best conditions and weather of the season to ski. I hope we can keep it going for another week or so!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
2.5K, 6K, 8.5K and Out 'N Back groomed with tiller this morning. Tracks were set and skate lanes leveled out. Very good conditions on these trails yet. Skating lane was groomed on the Training Loop yesterday and is very good condition. Then 11K Loop and Papoose Trails are closed this weekend due to Gator tracks breaking through the rain soaked snow. The end is coming soon so get out and enjoy the trails while you can.

First time after hearing many positive reports. The trails were in prime season shape, with first class grooming. The facilities at the trailhead are comfortable.

Groomed but not tracked. Skied in old tracks and used excellent groomed skate lanes for downhills. Very fast but mohair skis had good glide and kick. Would be cautious on steep downhills.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails are open but have deteriorated to fair condition for skating from the weekends warm temperatures. Tracks are in poor condition. No grooming today. However, on Tuesday we will be demoing a tractor/ tiller combo for grooming ski trails. We plan to groom the 2.5K and part of the 6K loop with this equipment, including setting new tracks, to see what kind of results we get with the current snow conditions. If you are able, stop by Tuesday afternoon with your skis and try the freshly groomed trails, and give us your feedback before you leave.

All trails groomed this morning with tracks reset after receiving approximately 2" of fresh snow overnight. Conditions will be very good for skating and striding if you hit the window, before everything softens up.
