Amazing conditions at S. M. R. More snow then they can keep up grooming, skate deck over two feet thick in spots, awesome classic tracks, stunning scenery, moose sightings common, fantastic.

Really solid trail conditions! Good to excellent! 30 k of our system is in very good shape for both skating and classic. 25 K of skate lane was regroomed this morning. We are working on Zone A, B, and C and will keep you posted as when the cats will hit the system later this week. Grooming plans: With snow coming in, looking for 50-60K by the weekend. Our tubing hill will fully open on Thanksgiving with a 24-36" base!

Do yourself a favor and take a trip out to Snow Mountain Ranch this ski season. The trails and scenery are gorgeous! I skied Nov 11-13 and considering this is weeks before my skis usually taste snow, conditions were excellent. Expect small patches of brown spots and ice, though these are easy to avoid. My skin skis had good kick and there are enough kilometers open to both have fun and get a real workout. Big thanks to the Nordic crew for excellent grooming and the YMCA staff for heating the sauna up to a steamy 210 degrees.

5" of new powder fell last night. 35K is rolled, combed, and track set. The new is soft with a 2"-4" base that is hard and frozen. The skiing is amazing for October. Tracks in October!

Great morning ski with many of the local enthusiasts ready to hit real snow. I used Rossi Zymax for skate and then swapped out to the Evo for classic 3-5 inch base rolled - staying frozen nicely. Skiers on the trails are pleasantly surprised with how well the conditions are and worth the trip for those coming in from Boulder and also Vail Nordic.

Received about 6-12" of fresh cold powder over the last 24 hours. It is still snowing today and expect another 2" or so. Snowmobile packed with a Ginzu about 12K last night. The base is frozen and skiing is good for early season. Great Evo conditions for kicking around on classic skis. I would not skate yet. 10 day weather at the Ranch looks like winter is here to stay!
