Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
This is just a note to notify everyone that grooming has completed for the season. With the warm temperatures the groomers have been transported for maintenance and storage for the season. However, there is still a significant snow base, so as the melt continues, there is still plenty of ski-able snow. I was out this morning on the north segments and there is still a good track. It will be icy in the mornings after a freeze so be careful, but please take advantage of the snow while we have it.

Thought I would ski the north trails this morning to see how my grooming last night ended up. It is definitely much better than it was before grooming. There are scattered segments where the tracksetter didn't leave a track for some reason, but they are only a few feet long and won't detract from the experience. Get out and enjoy! Spring may be coming fast.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We have not had any real good snowfalls lately, and combining that with above freezing temps, the track was getting lost in a large part of the system. So despite the hard iciness of the snow, I decided it would end up better than not doing anything. Using the knives on the groomer, I was able to break up the pack, and after making two passes on all segments, I think it turned out pretty well. The entrance leg, which was the hardest pack, got 6 passes with the knives and tracksetter, so I think that rehabilitated it pretty well. I only groomed the north section. The south section was groomed last Friday.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
With the windy day on Saturday we were unsure how conditions would be, but were glad we made the trip to Outing! We skied the north side of the trails. The slight fresh coat of snow improved the tracks from iciness last weekend. Although we skied on our good skis and most debris was avoidable, others might prefer B skis due to some debris and sticks/bark in the tracks. There was also some drifting into the tracks in less protected areas, but overall a great ski. Go check it out!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed the north trail segments this afternoon. The snow was very icy from the weekend warm-up, so the grooming left the deck quite crumbly, but I think the track will be in good shape. Tomorrow we are supposed to get a light dusting of snow, and that should help to finish it off nicely. Started to groom the south, but it was in much better shape than the north, and I felt that grooming would result in a worse condition. While the south is icy right now, I think that dusting of snow we should get will bring it back to very good quality. The south entry is groomed, but I exited the trail east of the first intersection where it parallels a snowmobile trail.

After the weekend thaw, the track is quite icy and fast, but still doable. Careful on the downhills. I plan to try and groom this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon.

Beautiful day for skiing. There were some dog tracks on ski path. Still fun to be out on the trails. I did the lake loop.

Great conditions, great grooming, great trails. The snow is prime for cross-country. Did south loop outer run. Very much fun. Beautiful January weather. Get out and enjoy.

After a few inches over several days, the trails needed a refresh before the weekend. All sections have been groomed.

Skied East Leg; Cut-thru; Central Corridor. Some snow drifts near "C" but the snow is soft, skied through it.
Fresh inch or two of snow. Skiing was really good, beautiful out on the trail.
Happy Trails:).
