Trail Reports

2021-2022 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 31    Month: Feb | Jan | Dec
Sunday, February 27, 2022
Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Overall good. Kudos to the groomers for keeping the trails in such good condition with so little snow. The sun is really thinning the snow on some open areas along highway, but very good skate deck in the woods. Classic track is much more variable, but passable in most areas. Not many skiing days left, so enjoy what's left.

Overall trails are in good condition. Areas along the highway are thin and some places bare but in the woods are in very good condition. Classic tracks are there but not full depth. Good day for getting out skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We got just enough snow to be able to touch up the skate deck and the classic tracks. Classic are not full depth but they are adequate. Couple of bare spots by the highway but solid skiing conditions in the woods.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Groomed this morning. Icy in the park and by the highway but once you get into the woods, the trails have good snow coverage and in good condition. Lots of small debris. Classic tracks are there but not great. May need to get out of the tracks in places.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Surprisingly good. Trails groomed this afternoon. Hard packed deck with surface broken up into a coarse sugar snow. Some icy areas through park and along interstate highway. Otherwise very good with enough surface snow for good push and lots of glide. Classic track in good fair to good condition.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
We are going to reopen our ski trails but no grooming has been done. We closed them due to the warm temperatures to prevent ruts. If you looking to ski, expect it to be hard packed, a bit rough, thin in places with trail debris.

Due to predicted temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday, we will be temporarily closing our trails to prevent damage that would be difficult to repair. So as noon Tuesday, the Coloma Ski Trails are closed. Look for a update for Thursday.

Conditions are a bit thin in places but the skate deck and the classic tracks are very firm and in solid condition. With a bit of work tomorrow, we will have 100% snow coverage and be prepped for our event this Saturday.
