Skied late in the afternoon, just before and after sunset. Classic tracks were boilerplate. The tracks had softened up in the previous day(s) and turned to concrete by the later afternoon. The skate lanes looked better - the surface had been scratched up with some loose snow on top. Most people were using skate skis. The weather was clear with temperatures just below freezing.

Excellent base and grooming made for a perfect ski day on both classic and skate skis. The classic track was fast with good grip and glide using Fischer Twin Skin waxless skis. The classic track was solid enough to hold one's skis around the curves on the downhills. The skate deck was nicely combed but had seen lots of skate skiers. Skate conditions were fast. There was just one bare patch on a downhill under the dense pines on the Mounds Loop. It was easy to ski around the bare patch.

Trails were in decent condition and more snow was falling but they had not yet been groomed. It appeared they lost their base in the most recent thaw so there were sticks and thin sections in places but were generally avoidable. The wider skate trails tended to be in better shape than the single-track trails.
