Trail Detail
Notes
A couple of good loops, although it seems to get more wind-blown than other metro trails. New in 2013, 5K snowmaking loop.Trail Reports

Good bye old friend. The glacier is more of a patch now. Quite a few walkers between the chalet and Jan’s place pulse the below freezing temps have made the conditions sketchy. Should be better this afternoon when the snow softens up. I bought my running shoes to finish out my workout.

The Glacier lives! Hyland must be using “Ice 9” in their snowmaking machines. Had to shuffle in a few spots but very skiable around most of Frogtown. The rain seems to have cleaned up some of the dirty snow. Of course, I call the end of skiing when I have to take off my skis more than twice in an outing.

As I got on the trail about 9 am the only other skier in sight came up to me and said "sometimes it is really great being a diehard." What a nice day to ski! What everyone said is true about the groomed trail. Plus, there weren't many people there. One low spot has me worried. I did the ungroomed stuff toward the hills but turned around before climbing because it was rough. No idea what the rain will do, but I will ski it as long as the excellent work grooming continues.

First ski Dec 4th, last ski Mae 21st. Thanks, groomers, for an incredible winter on the trail. The last few weeks especially brought a lot of joy to a lot of skiers! Shout out to Sonja for all the early morning grooming reports waving us in.

I skied Hyland 8-9 am. I was surprised by the stiffness of the snow on the skate deck considering the 43 degree Temperatures. But it was still fun to run into my diehard ski friends, Tony and Kathie. Frogtown and willow were groomed and fast! Quite a bit of leaves in the frog town tracks. This was my last day of a fantastic ski season. Thanks to the Three Rivers grooming team for keeping a wonderful spring season of skiing going.
