That might do it for the year for me. Kudos to the grooming team for keeping the trails open and in good shape this long! Trail was getting quite dirty this evening, especially the loop by the chalet and several spots in the woods. I was able to ski the entire manmade loop minus Boulder Ridge without taking skis off. However, there are a handful of snow slivers that likely won't survive much longer.

Fresh grooming this morning made for firm and fast skate skiing! A little icy, but getting softer after sunrise. Fun to get out for a few more skis!

Awesome skiing, still open to the top of Scenic Foothills, no idea how it keeps setting up so well with the warm weather. Super firm/fast but could still hold an edge, pretty clean, and deep tracks for classic, plus they continue to patch thin spots as needed. Get out there while you still can!

Pleasantly surprised how clean the snow was! Open to the top of the hill on Scenic Highlands. Skated at 10:15 and it was still pretty icy, but softened up each lap. Only a couple of dirt spots, but easy to avoid. So fun to ski in the spring sunshine!! Thank you to Three Rivers for keeping the trails groomed for spring skiing!

The snowmaking loop was closed at the top of Scenic. The trail was in generally in good condition but getting soft. It was 32 degrees and sunny at my 10:40 am start. The top or end of out-bound Willow was getting narrow, shallow and soft with a couple of spots of Snert, minor breakthrough and rutting. The flat leading to the climb on in-bound Frog Town was getting pretty wet. I used OptiWax tape wax for the first time. I don't think it performed that great but my pace without the Boulder and Scenic in-bound climbs was the fastest of the season for me. After a breather to eat a clementine and a banana, I uncharacteristically did a 2nd lap and my pace dropped a half a minute a mile. I'm sure mostly because of my flagging stamina but the softening snow was probably a factor too.

The snowmaking loops were open as far as Scenic Foothills. At 10:30 AM they were in exceptional condition. Firm and fast. But softening up as the sun hit them and the temperature got above 35° F. I was surprised that the snow looked whiter this morning than it did on Saturday.

Amazingly good conditions at Hyland. Perfect klister conditions. More deer than people on the course Wet coarse corn snow that was surprisingly clean. There are some leaves in the track, but they were wet enough that the klister did not pick them up. Zero skis did not grip well. I would rate this B conditions because some areas of the course have somewhat dirty snow.

Pleasant surprise this morning to find the snowmaking loop up to the top of scenic foothills in solid shape! Yesterday as I was finishing my ski at 12:30 and 70 F there were bare spots melting through fast on the south-facing hills, but this morning they were repaired with a fresh layer of snow. It was soft but very skiable. I gave it a rock ski rating given a few spots that were getting thin but B skis would be fine too if you watch your step. Thanks to the trail crews for repairing the trail and keeping us skiing!

Super fun spring skiing on white base skis this morning. Fun to get a bunch more Boulder Ridge descents in for the season. 50 degrees at start, 60 degrees at the end, getting a little slushy and dirty on the last lap. Thanks for the great season!

Despite last night's temps not getting close to freezing, trail was in very good condition. Softly frozen corduroy in shade, softer very shallow corn in sun at my 9:30 start. It was 42 degrees and sunny. I did break through at the top of 2 or 3 climbs that were getting mildly rutted in those small areas. No ice, no sugar buildup on any climbs. no snowplow wake. Snert in a couple of spots and small spot of slush at the top of the inbound Scenic downhill. I am sure it was my fastest ski of the year because in a first for my 73 year season I only had to take 2 brief breathers on the inbound Scenic climbs.
