Scenic cold night ski. So glad to finally get to ski Northwest Park. It's the ski equivalent of an executive golf course: short, interesting, and a perfect after work blast with minimal logistics. Lots of variety in 3.2 kilometers: 1K gentle rolling downhill, 1K gradual curvy incline, .5K uphill climbing, .5K borderline spooky downhill, then up and over and you're back in the parking lot. Ski trail is shared with fat-tire bikers, dog walkers, runners, sundry animals. There was animal scat on the trail (an avoidable discharge). If you are a trail condition purist, you're best served elsewhere. If you are a blue-collar shredder who wants a quick whip in the woods, this is great. Groomed for skate, classical. For what it serves, trail was in remarkable condition--only a few skate trails were in front of me. After the first 100 yards, the trail widens to a comfortable width.
