Super ice as expected. Several frozen water patches. Favorite part was skate skiing on the lake. My buddy and I traded traditional and skate skis partway through. Almost no one there.

Because of lots of ice patches, Browns Pond, Lake Elmo and Northern Lights were in poor condition. However, snow covered sections were in good to very good condition because of excellent effort by the groomer. Groomer scratched up enough snow to provide decent bite and, where he/she could, detours around ice. Only spot where ice was an issue on a downhill was the right angle turn to the south from the 1st Browns Pond straight away. There was the thinnest strip of ice on the left I successfully skied but if your skis splayed to the side at all you would go down for sure. No ice on the Lake Elmo or Northern Light downhills. It was 11 degrees according to Google. I used Fastwax Teal LF, which performed ok but because of cold snow temps would often stick or not glide forward on my initial stride.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skate deck was regroomed. No classic tracks were set. Pretty good coverage, some dirt patches showing, and sections of trails that are icy. The Brown's Pond, Savana, and Hills trails have sections of ice to watch out for. The North Trail have very thin coverage. The yellow Prairie trail has the best coverage per grooming staff.

Skate deck was rolled. No classic track was set. There is standing water in areas. The Brown's Pond trail has a lot of standing water on the trails.

Skied the green and yellow trails Sunday night. Hadn't been groomed since snow and rain hit. 2-3" of what could be decent snow but the rain made several spots icy and rough. Some standing water starting on the green trail just as you come down the first hill after the trail head. On the yellow trail out in the prairie once you make it down the long slow downhill there is a very crusty spot where water collected under the snow. I was skating but it's pretty thick.

Skied all lighted sections and quite a mixed bag with the recent snowfall. No recent grooming but a fairly deep track with soft slow conditions. Areas with ponding from the warm sloppy conditions but frozen and easy to navigate around. There was about 3" of fresh snow so if sections can be regroomed it may hold up. Just nice to get out and ski while you still can. The grip tape on the B skis allowed me to get fairly good grip and control and some of the sections were quite enjoyable.

Beautiful conditions at Lake Elmo Park Reserve this morning. Groomers were out when I was there between 9-10am, leaving a freshly groomed skate deck throughout the whole East side trails leaving from the Nordic Center. Was ice in some spots, but easy to skirt around. So grateful for the groomers there who work tirelessly to allow us to ski as long as we can.

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
From one of the Park staff: Skate deck is in good condition. It is a little soft with one or two bare spots but can still use your good skis. The classic track looks to be in fair condition with some debris/icy areas. Its a gorgeous day to ski!

Excellent conditions in general with a few leaves and icy spots. No doubt more ice is on the way but manageable today. Classic track does not appear to have been groomed lately but the tracks were pretty good in most places due to use. Skate deck looked pretty hard-packed but not really deterring folks.

The tracks were set real nice from the recent snow. There were areas where dirt and sticks were visible. But, the tracks were filling up with the light snow which was falling. I can't comment much on the speed of the skate deck. However, I can comment on the couple who were skating together side by side. They tore up the classic tracks just about everywhere they went! Don't do that, have respect.
