Dicey yet exhilarating, not for the feint of heart. Potholes and debris abound, yet solid with almost complete cover on the manmade loops. Rollerski skills are a must, not being soft enough to snowplow or hockey-stop. Quickklister sloughed off in a hot minute so I was mostly double-poling, but there were some shallow tracks set before me.

Awesome conditions for a final day at Wirth. The groomers have kept it up until the end! Today was a bit icy/crusty on green meadow and twin lake (compared to yesterday, which was absolutely perfect). Course starting to show the weather but well worth getting out there one last day. Thank you so much to the Wirth grooming crew for making such a great season. I logged over 1400K at Wirth with 96 ski days this winter :).

Sweet spring skiing at Wirth this morning and not bad throughout the day for diehards. Tonight will be our last grooming. Come out tomorrow morning for one last hoorah. Huge thanks to all of you who loved up the trails this year. The Loppet loves you back! Can't wait for next year!

Epic skate skiing conditions at Wirth this morning! Rocket ship fast, firm, and fun. Can't believe it was 56 degrees yesterday. Classic tracks were firm but a bit icy in the early AM. Ran into a pile of deer confused how to navigate the roundabout. Should be an excellent weekend for skiing at Wirth!

8am start around 32-34 degrees. Lots of fast lightly used corduroy, some of it beautiful white, some discolored but not due to thin base, a few spots crust. The hardest crust was on the slow climb to green meadow and the first big steep climb on twin lakes - that's the only reason I put B skis. Over 10k it warmed up around 5 degrees and sun started shining on the open trail sections. That and more use softened most things up, but my last time up the first big steep twin lakes climb was still pretty solid crust. For the weather we've had, there were a ton of fast, truly enjoyable sections, just had to stay on my toes for the fast downhill curves and crusty climbs.

The trail was soft and showing dirt in the snow column, but nice to be out. The trail has also been shortened to about 3.5k (Meadow, Twin Lakes, & up to coaches corner).

It was a good last ski of the season for me at Theo this morning. The trails were freshly groomed for classic and skate, and in great condition, especially considering how warm it was! Thanks to all the groomers and the Loppet Foundation for their hard work in making Wirth a premier ski destination for the city! Here's to next year!

Vast improvement over same time yesterday morning. No frozen corduroy. Conditions were slightly crusty and sugary on the uphills , but absolutely nothing to complain about. I should've done another lap.

I'd do it again! I'd give it an 8/10 under the circumstances that it is spring skiing. Conditions are not quite pristine as the trails have frozen corduroy underneath, but this morning's snow does a good job covering it up and providing traction. I never felt like I was unstable or like I was on a sheet of ice. On the plus side, it was speedy and I had the place to myself. If you're looking for one more run before the end of the season, go for it.
